Bonnies Topple Griffs on Senior Day

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team put up a dominating team performance in their final home meet of the season. With four podium sweeps, the Bonnies defeated Canisius, 187-96. 
 
Prior to the day's swimming events, the team honored its six senior members: Silvana Cabrera, Madelyn Green, Paige Kasemsuwannakaeth, Kylie McKee, Maggie Metcalf, and Amy O'Rourke.
 
The Brown and White's four podium sweeps came in the 50-freestyle, 100-freestyle, 200-backstroke, and 200-IM. 
 
In the 50-freestyle, juniors Halle Myers (23.59) and Ellie Kraus (24.06) finished first and second, followed by senior Amy O'Rourke (24.46).
 
The same three swept the podium in the 100-freestyle with Kraus (52.15) coming out on top and Myers (52.80) and O'Rourke (53.31) following. 
 
The 200-backstroke was led by sophomore Daciana Colon who posted a time of 2:09.96. Sydney Londergan (2:12.13) and Maggie Holst (2:12.29) finished second and third with just 0.16 seconds separating them. 
 
The Bonnies continued their domination in the 200-IM with freshmen Anna Bojana Forjan (2:08.60) and Londergan (2:16.58) tallying first and third-place finishes respectively. Between them was senior Silvana Cabrera (2:11.09). 
 
In relay action, both St. Bonaventure A-teams collected victories with the 200-medley relay (Eylul Alli, Silvana Cabrera, Halle Myers, Ellie Kraus) finishing in 1:46.81, and the 400-freestyle relay (Amy O'Rourke, Silvana Cabrera, Maggie Metcalf, Nele Vetter) posting a time of 3:36.52. 
 
Vetter (200-free), Bojana Forjan (100-back), Cabreara (200-fly), and Metcalf (100-fly) also collected victories in the teams final home meet of the season. 
 
The Bonnies have their final tune-up Feb. 3 in Pittsburgh for a tri-meet with Duquesne and Clarion before Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 21-23 in Hampton, Va.
