Miranda Habshi burst onto the scene in her first collegiate race taking eighth overall at the Little Three Championships with a 5K time 19:15.44 in September. Her effort earned her a spot in the Bonnies record board in the 5KÂ at 13th overall individually.
Habshi's hot start continued when she finished first on the team in her first collegiate 6K at the Yellowjacket Invitational. Habshi ran a 23:30.9 time and placed 15th overall out of 220 racers. Her performance ranked her 12th individually in the Bonnies record book in the 6K.Â
Habshi was honored with Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week the week of Sept. 29 for her performance at the Lock Haven Invitational where she ran a 22:38.4 and jumped up to fourth overall in the record book.
She is a native of Queensbury, N.Y.
