ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Senior Halle Myers highlighted the Saturday performance for the St. Bonaventure women's swim and dive team by collecting a win and posting a new Reilly Center Pool record in the 50-freestyle. However, the women's swim and dive team fell to Cornell, 160-79.

Myers touched the wall in 23.16 to set a new RC Pool top mark. Her time is also the second-fastest in the Atlantic 10 Conference this season for the event.

The veteran swimmer also recorded a second-place finish in the 100-free with a time of 51.42 as part of a strong overall day.

Finishing behind Myers in both the 50 and 100-free was Ellie Kraus. Kraus earned second-place in the 50-free with a time of 24.20 and fourth in the 100-free (52.80).

Freshman Phoebe McClaren recorded a win and a second-place finish as well for the Brown and White. The rookie earned a victory in the 1000-free, touching the wall in 10:31.13. Finishing as the runner-up in the 500-free, McClaren swam a time of 5:09.59.

Sophomore Anna Bojana Forjan collected two second place finishes in the 200-IM (2:10.01) and 200-backstroke (2:05.56) as well for the Bonnies.

A pair of third-place finishes from Nele Vetter added to the Bonnies' points total. The junior posted a time of 1:56.74 in the 200-free and 2:13.81 in the 200-fly, finishing third in both events.

The 200-free relay was victorious, finishing with a time of 1:36.43. Myers, Amy O'Rourke, Bojana Forjan, and Kraus combined for the win.

In diving action, Sanayia Joefield posted a score of 231.08 in the 1-meter to finish second.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE SMIECHOWSKI
"I'm pleased with the way the women swam today. Cornell is a very talented team, but we are demonstrating we can hang with them a lot better than two years ago, or even last year."

"We picked up some wins, and Halle broke a pool record, a record which she set two years ago in a tech suit, today in just a regular dual meet suit."

"There is a lot to build on, some things we identified that we can work on involving preparation at meets that we will have the opportunity to test again for mid-season champs."

"I am excited to see how we can continue to build off this momentum at the Magnus Invite and get a gauge of where we are at with a little bit of rest, which we haven't had yet."

QUOTES FROM DIVING COACH ALEJANDRA FUENTES
"I'm so proud of Sanayia's resilience. She showed today that the work we've done has impacted her diving in a great way."
