The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team is set for a Tuesday meeting with the Saint Francis (PA) Red Flash. Opening draw is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Bonnies scored their first-ever Power 5 victory Thursday as they took down the Pac-12's California, 10-8. Abby Hiltz scored three goals and added a helper while Ashley Herrick played lights out in net with 11 saves and a 57.9% save percentage.
- The win over the Golden Bears came in spite of the Bonnies performance on the draw, winning their lowest number of draws in in their five games. Cal led in draw controls 18-3.
- Before the win over Cal, the Bonnies played at UC Davis. The Aggies bested the Bonnies 13-9, but junior Fiona McGovern had her best scoring performance of the season, tallying five goals and an assist in the contest.
- McGovern leads the squad in assists with eight. She is currently eighth in the A-10 in assists per game at 1.60.
NOTABLES
- Ashley Herrick currently ranks second in the Atlantic 10 in save percentage and 19th among Division I goalies. Herrick and freshman Katelyn Hicks have combined for the second-best mark in saves per game in the league at 9.60
- Brooke Piper's average of 2.80 goals per contest sets her at sixth in the Atlantic 10.
- Fiona McGovern leads the squad in assists with eight. She is currently eighth in the A-10 in assists per game at 1.60.
P-5 TRIUMPH
The Bonnies scored their first-ever Power 5 win last Thursday as they defeated California, 10-8. Seven different Bonnies scored in the contest while
Abby Hiltz had her best game of the season with three goals and an assist.
Ashley Herrick was excellent in the cage, making 11 saves on a 57.9% save percentage.
PROTECT THE BALL
St. Bonaventure has one of the lowest turnovers per game average in the Atlantic 10 at 13.60. Only Davidson and George Washington have lower totals at 13 and 11. The Bonnies turnovers average is down from 15.11 in 2023.
BRICK WALL
Graduate student
Ashley Herrick currently ranks 19th in save percentage among Division I goalies. Her mark of .488 is second best in the Atlantic 10 as well. Herrick has had three games this season with a .500 save percentage or better. Her work against Cal earned her the Brick Wall award from laxreference.com.
HILTZ HELPER
With her assist at Cal, senior
Abby Hiltz took sole possession of sixth on the Bonnies list of career assists with 44. Hiltz has three on the season and has averaged over 13 assists per season in her first three years on the team.
FRIENDS FROM THE NORTH
According to Lacrosse Canada, the St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team has the most Canadian players on their roster out of the 117 Division I teams with nine. Seven of those nine players are from Ontario while two are from British Columbia. Freshman
Jordan Murrell from British Columbia has moved on to the final round of tryouts for the first-ever Canadian women's box lacrosse team.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE RED FLASH
Saint Francis leads the series history two games to one and has won the last two meetings. The last time the teams met was April 19 of last year in Loretto, Pa. Saint Francis took a 17-11 decision.

RED FLASH NOTES
- Saint Francis has started the season 1-2 with their win coming against Robert Morris last Wednesday. Two Red Flash players had five goals in the game, and goalie Taylor Coughlin had seven saves.
- Bella Fisher and Lizzie Fisher head the Red Flash attack with 14 and 10 points on the year respectively. Taylor Coughlin has taken all the minutes in goal, making 40 saves with a .400 save percentage.
- The Red Flash are last among Division I programs in draw control percentage, winning just 32.6% of their draws.
