Women's Lacrosse Hosts VCU in Regular Season Finale

The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team is set to host VCU in the regular season finale at the Marra Athletics Complex. The team will honor their six graduating seniors before opening draw slated for noon. 
 
SENIOR SATURDAY
Kelsey Tiffany is a four-year member of the program. She has made six career appearances including two this season. In the classroom, Tiffany is a public health major and has earned a spot on the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll each year of her career. 
 
Kassi Hogan is a four-year member of the program and one of the team's captains. She has made 44 starts in 55 career appearances. Hogan has recorded 55 points over her career including a game-winner over VCU last season. She is a health science major and a three-time A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Honoree. 
 
Paige Szymusiak is a four-year member of the Bonnies team. She has played in 59 career games, making 41 starts. Szymusiak has recorded 32 caused turnovers and 52 groundballs in her career as a staple of the Bona defense. In the classroom, she is a marketing major and three-time A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Honoree. 
 
Riley Schott is a four-year member of the program and team captain. Schott has appeared in 41 games for the Brown and White, scoring four goals and adding one assist. She is a marketing major and three-time Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Honoree. 
 
Callie Kessler has been a member of the program for four years. She has appeared in 24 career games and scored her first career goal at Akron this season. She has amassed seven goals and two assists over her career. In the classroom, she is a strategic communication major and a three-time A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Honoree. 
 
Abby Hiltz is a four-year member of the program. She has appeared in 60 games and made 55 starts. Hiltz has made her mark on the Bonnies record book over the years, with 52 career assists she has the fifth most in program history. Hiltz is also 15th among Bonnies all-time points leaders with 118. In the classroom, she is a physical education major and a three-time A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll Honoree. 
 
PLAYOFF PICTURE 
St. Bonaventure is in a must-win situation going into Saturday's contest. If the Bonnies are victorious, they will also need help from George Mason to secure their spot in the Atlantic 10 tournament. If the Patriots beat Saint Joseph's and SBU beats VCU, the Bonnies will get the sixth and final playoff spot. 
 
NOTABLES
  • Both Brooke Piper and Megan Schillinger have a chance to set the program's single-season draw control record. The sophomore pair have 61 and 60 draw controls this season respectively. The single-season record of 64 was set in 2005 by Courtney Gibbons. 
  • Brit Colangelo has reached 32 caused turnovers this season. That is the fifth-most in a single season by a Bonnies player. The sophomore has also picked up 43 groundballs, a tie for 11th most in a single season in program history with Kimberly Ross who had the same number in 2008. 
  • Junior Fiona McGovern has entered the top-10 among Bonnies all-time points leaders. She is currently tied with Katelyn Faas, '07 with 138 career points. 
  • The Bonnies have six players with 20 or more points this season for the first time since 2015. McGovern and Piper lead the way while Grace Hollenbeck, Abby Hiltz, Kassi Hogan, and Jessica Notaro join them as points leaders this season. 
 
SERIES HISTORY 
The Bonnies picked up their first-ever win over VCU last season in Richmond, 15-13. The Rams had won the previous five meetings between the teams. The Bonnies are 0-2 against VCU at the Marra Athletics Complex. 
 
ABOUT VCU
  • The Rams handed Richmond its first A-10 loss of the season last Saturday, coming away with the 9-7 victory. 
  • Mia George and Ashley Karn lead the squad with 41 points apiece. 
  • Ahnika Eberl has played the majority of minutes in cage for the Rams, collecting 73 saves and a .360 save percentage.
  • The Rams were selected to finish fifth in the A-10 Preseason Poll, two spots ahead of St. Bonaventure
