ST. BONAVENTURE (8-15, 0-3 A-10) vs. DAYTON (17-11, 2-1 A-10)
Saturday - Sunday, April 6-7
Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field
LEADING OFF
- The Bonnies return home to Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field for just the second time this year after playing 22 of their first 23 games on the road.
- SBU opened the season with 19 straight games away from home, starting with an 844-mile trip to Charleston, S.C. for three games at The Citadel before a 669-mile trek to Louisville in the second weekend of the season. A 735-mile jaunt to Presbyterian followed by a 744-mile drive to Middle Tennessee completed the first four series on the year.
- St. Bonaventure will look to snap a four-game losing streak that began in the home-opener vs. Le Moyne last Tuesday before dropping a three-game series at George Washington to begin Atlantic 10 play last weekend.Â
- The Bonnies take on Dayton this weekend. The Flyers swept a three-game series in Ohio last year, taking game one 17-3 before closely contested 5-2 and 3-2 scores in the final two games. When the Bonnies and Flyers last met in Western New York, the Bonnies won the series by taking the first two games, 6-5, and 4-3 in 11 innings.Â
- Dayton opened up Atlantic 10 play last weekend as well, taking two of three games at home vs. Fordham. The Flyers dropped the Friday contest, 12-2, but bounced back with wins of 12-6 and 6-5 over the Rams to take the series.
- The A-10 schedule consists of 24 conference games as the race to make the A-10 Tournament is on. The top seven teams from the final regular season conference standings will earn bids to the A-10 Tournament which will be held this year from May 21-25 in Tysons, Va.Â
