ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's basketball program has added another signee to its 2024-25 recruiting class with the addition of Xander Wedlow, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound power forward/center from Detroit who signed his National Letter of Intent Friday.

Wedlow most recently suited up for University Prepatory Academy in the Motor City and was ranked as the No. 6 recruit in Michigan. He also was listed as the No. 52 center overall in this year's recruiting class and as a three-star prospect by 247 Sports.

"Xander is a long, athletic big man who can score with his back to the basket and facing up," Bonnies head coach Mark Schmidt said. "He runs the court really well. On the other end, he will make an impact with his ability to block shots and protect the rim. We believe Xander has tremendous upside and his best basketball is ahead of him. Xander is a great kid and good student, he fits the type of person we want in the program. We are excited to get him on campus this summer."

An All-State, All-Region and All-Conference selection during his prep career, he was a force on both ends of the court. Wedlow averaged a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds per contest while swatting an eye-popping eight shots per game as a senior.

His University Prep squad reached the state quarterfinals this season. He also ranks eighth in the school's history for 400-meter times in track.

He becomes the second true freshman in this year's recruiting class, joining new frontcourt mate Ebrahim Kaba. Wedlow will add to Bona's depth up front, joining returning senior Noel Brown as well as redshirt junior transfer Michael Folarin.
