After a tough week in the early stretch of conference play, the St. Bonaventure women's soccer team will look to bounce back with a road match at George Mason on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The Bonnies will then return to the Marra Athletics Complex on Sunday afternoon, hosting George Washington at 1 p.m.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Bona was shutout against Rhode Island this past Sunday on home turf, 3-0. The Rams netted two early scores in the 10
th and 25
th minutes, tacking on a third goal in the second half to put a wrap on the match.
Â
GROUP OF GOALKEEPERS
The Bonnies have taken advantage of depth at the goalkeeper position this season, utilizing three different student-athletes in competition so far.
Â
Adelaide Paredes | Sophomore | Newark, N.J.
Paredes, who joined the team along with first-year head coach
Melissa Sherwood as a transfer from Mount St. Mary's, has started in all three Atlantic 10 matchups, seeing action off the bench in three other contests. She has made 26 total saves and had an incredible highlight sequence in last Sunday's match, making three consecutive saves as the Rams collected rebounds and returned shots in quick succession.
Â
Juliana Castellano | Junior | Staten Island, N.Y.
Castellano served as the primary goalkeeper during the team's non-conference slate, making six starts and allowing just five goals. She claimed the first clean sheet of her career earlier in the season against Long Island. She is currently tied for the highest saves per game in the A-10 (5.33) and sits second in the conference in total saves (32) despite playing in the fewest games of any player ranking within the top 10.
Â
Jael Schubert | Senior | Wil, Switzerland
Schubert has seen action in three games, making two starts including earning the nod on the team's Senior Day. She has allowed only one goal and has logged two shutout halves in net for the Bonnies.
Â
