Box Score NEW HAVEN, Conn. – St. Bonaventure University men's tennis sophomore Davis Matney earned a pair of singles wins at ITA Regionals hosted by Yale.
Action began Thursday for the Brown and White.
Matney's regional began in the qualifying bracket where he bested Troy Kudrjavstev from Yale in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
He earned a spot in the main draw with his second win of the tournament against Callum Jessett from Fairfield, battling back from a set down to win, 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.
Matney, however, fell in three sets in the opening round of the main draw to Lucas Phimuongsa of Brown, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
He teamed up with Connor Turner in doubles action, but the duo fell in the opening round to Michael Malkin and Minjae Kim from Buffalo, 8-5.
ITA Regionals concluded the fall season for the Bonnies.
The Brown and White kick off the spring season January 17 on the road at Navy.
