The Countdown To Opening Day Is On: 2026 Bonnies Baseball Schedule Revealed

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Snow may be falling on campus, but the calendar is moving toward baseball season with the release of the 2026 Bonnies slate.

Opening Day for the new season is scheduled for Feb. 13 as the Bonnies travel to North Carolina for a four-game weekend series at UNC Asheville, members of the Big South Conference.

The following weekend, the Bonnies will again make what has become a yearly trip to Middle Tennessee as the Bonnies play at the Blue Raiders for the fourth consecutive season. MTSU claimed series victories in 2023 and 2024, but the Bonnies won their lone game against the Blue Raiders in a three-game round robin in Murfreesboro last spring.

As the conference season approaches, the Bonnies will slowly start making their way further north with each weekend trip.

From Feb. 27 – March 1, the Bonnies will play in Annapolis, MD to take on a Navy squad which won 26 games and reached the semifinals of the Patriot League last season.

Bona will get three tough non-conference tune-ups as March begins against contenders from three separate leagues prior to opening up A-10 action.

First, the Bonnies will play at Kent State on March 4 in the first battle between the two programs in many years. The Golden Flashes, a perennial contender in the Mid-American Conference, posted a 38-18 record with their 17th MAC regular season crown last spring.

The following weekend, the Bonnies are set to play at Marshall March 6-8. The Thundering Herd finished 33-26 last season and reached the Sun Belt semis.

Bona's final non-conference tune-up before Atlantic 10 play kicks off comes with a mid-week trip to Binghamton March 10. The Bonnies and Bearcats split a pair of one-run games in a home-and-home series last year with both teams defending home turf. Binghamton, last year's America East champs, is set to make a return trip to Bonaventure on March 31.

The Atlantic 10 schedule expands to 10 three-game conference series this season with the Bonnies opening up A-10 play with a trip to 2024 league champion George Mason March 13-15.

Bona's home opener at the newly renovated Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field comes with conference action vs. Saint Louis March 20-22. It will mark the first games held at the complex following the $1.5 million renovation project which will completely transform the facility by the spring.

The Bonnies will also host Atlantic 10 home series vs. George Washington (April 2-4) with that series starting on Thursday and running through Saturday before the Easter holiday, Rhode Island (April 17-19), Dayton (April 24-26) and Fordham (May 14-16).

In league road competition, SBU will also travel to play at VCU (March 27-29), Davidson (April 10-12), Saint Joseph's (May 1-3) and at La Salle (May 8-10) which returns its baseball program for the first time since 2021.

Midweek non-conference play will include trips to Penn State (March 24) and Le Moyne (April 14) while traditional home-and-home series vs. Niagara will see the Bonnies travel north on April 21 before the Purple Eagles return to the Enchanted Mountains April 28. Canisius, meanwhile, is scheduled to play at Bona's April 7 before the Griffs host the Bonnies in Buffalo May 5.
