The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team wraps up non-conference action this weekend in Florida. The Bonnies meet with Stetson on Friday and USF on Sunday. It's the first meeting in program history with both teams. USF is in its inaugural season as a program.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies picked up a 10-6 win over reigning America East champions Binghamton on Tuesday at home. Brooke Piper led the way offensively, scoring four goals in the first half to give Bona's a 6-3 lead at the intermission. Fiona McGovern and Tori Nascimento added two apiece in the second half to lead the Bonnies to a 10-6 victory in the team's first meeting with the Bearcats since 2015.

RANKING NATIONALLY
Junior Megan Schillinger and sophomore Katelyn Hicks are rising up the national ranks. Following the team's Feb. 25 game, Schillinger is tied for seventh nationally in draw controls per game with 9.4. Only six players in Division I are averaging 10 or more draw controls per game. As a team, the Bonnies are 13th in draw control percentage (6.30).

Hicks is 10th among all D-I players in save percentage (.544), 19th in goals against average (8.07), and 20th in saves per game (9.80). She leads the Atlantic 10 in save percentage and saves per game.

100 CLUB
McGovern reached the centennial mark in career goals in Tuesday's game vs Binghamton. She is the 10th player in SBU history to reach the 100-goal mark.

RISING UP THE RANKS
McGovern, Piper, Brit Colangelo, and Schillinger are all rising the ranks in the Bona's program record book. McGovern is eighth in career points (163), tied for 8th in career goals (100), and fourth in career assists (63). Piper and Schillinger are currently tied for fourth in career draw controls with 125, while Colangelo is fifth in career caused turnovers with 65.

NON-CONFERENCE SLATE
The Bonnies sit at 3-2 in non-conference play with two games to go. If the Bonnies win out, they could have their best non-conference record (5-2) since 2020. In 2020, Bona's went 5-2 before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Last season, Stetson finished with a 4-11 overall record and 1-5 mark in Atlantic Sun play. The Hatters were picked sixth out of the seven-team ASUN preseason poll rankings.

Prior to USF, McCord helped Jacksonville build their women's lacrosse program, boasting a 170-62 record over her 13-year tenure.
  • USF started the season with a 3-2 record, winning the opening three games and dropping the next two. The Bulls won over Kennesaw State in their first game at the D-I level before beating Mercer and Lehigh and falling to Florida and Towson.
