BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure's late rally went for naught as Binghamton scored the game-winning run on a walk-off wild pitch for a 7-6 victory in midweek action at Bearcats Baseball Stadium.

For the second time in three games, redshirt sophomore outfielder Jayce Tharnish led off the game with a homer to right, also doing so Saturday night at Tennessee.

Binghamton (7-8) bounced back with a homer of their own, the Bearcats being one of the two-run variety for a 2-1 advantage.

Gavin Constantine tied things up in the second with a double to left, plating Mike Gunning who led off the frame with a single and a stolen base to work into scoring position.

The Bearcats, fresh off two SEC wins at Missouri over the weekend, went ahead again in the third on a run-scoring infield hit before a two-run fifth moved their lead to 5-2.

Constantine got a run back for the Bonnies with a groundout to plate Antonio Cordeiro, but the Bearcats led by three heading for the ninth.

Robert Mannino started a Bonnies rally with a pinch hit double, later scoring on an infield hit from Chris Hoalcraft.

With the score at 6-4, David Marshall Jr. sent a 3-1 offering out to right for the game-tying two run bomb.

In the last of the ninth, though, a walk and an error opened the door for the Bearcats and wild pitch allowed the winning run to come home.

Constantine, Hoalcraft and Marshall all had two hits at the plate for SBU.

Jaxson Ross made his first collegiate start (3.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 1 K) with Chance Moore (1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K) and Conor Wolf (1.0 IP, 1 H) both tossing scores frames out of the bullpen for the Bonnies (7-8).
