St. Bonaventure Athletics Agrees To Multi-Year Extension With The Hero

Game coverage to also return to Bonnies Online Network

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure basketball games will return to local terrestrial radio for the 2025-26 season as Bonnies fans again can tune into the action on 100.1 FM "The Hero."

St. Bonaventure Athletics and The Hero have agreed to a new two-year contract extension running through 2027. The new agreement will keep all Bonnies men's basketball games on local terrestrial radio, including any postseason contests.

In addition, a select number of Bonnies women's basketball games will air on The Hero over the next two seasons.

"WBRR 100.1 "The Hero" is proud to be selected as the local broadcast partner for St. Bonaventure men's and women's basketball for the 2025-26 and '26-'27 seasons," said station general manager Don Fredeen. "Our listeners and sponsors look forward to more exciting seasons for the Bonnies on the Hero."

For fans outside the local area, games will continue to be available worldwide for free through the Bonnies Online Network. The Bonnies Online Network also remains the home for all Bona women's basketball games.

Gary Nease, the "Voice of the Bonnies," will again provide the play-by-play with his 31st year on the mic for the Bonnies men's games.

"We are thrilled to extend our relationship with 100.1 The Hero to broadcast our men's and women's basketball games," said Bob Beretta, St. Bonaventure Vice President and Director of Athletics. "Returning our broadcasts to terrestrial radio last year was incredibly important. Through our partnership with 100.1 The Hero, we are able to better serve a large population of our most fierce and loyal Bonnie fans.

"We are extremely grateful to Don and Dan and the leadership at 100.1 The Hero for their vision and commitment to St. Bonaventure University and our basketball programs. We could not ask for better partners to help spread the Bonnies brand."

This will mark the third season of coverage by the Bonnies Online Network, a completely free service providing Bona fans with live play-by-play, podcasts and more. In addition to game coverage, Bonnies Online Network podcasts with St. Bonaventure coaches and student-athletes can be downloaded on demand both through GoBonnies.com as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all major podcasts services simply by searching 'Bonnies Online Network.'

The Bonnies Online Network will also continue to carry games from several of the St. Bonaventure Athletics Department's spring sports programs during the 2025-26 academic year with coverage of Bona men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball. Last year, the BON added video streams for a number of home events which were not otherwise available through ESPN+.
