DAVIDSON, N.C. – The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team dropped a conference matchup on the road at Davidson on Thursday night, falling 2-1 under the lights amid inclement weather.

Suspended in the 68th minute at a score of 1-1 due to lightning, the match would not resume for nearly two hours, being just two minutes shy of an official match. Once restarted, the Wildcats (5-3-1, 1-1 A-10) jumped on the opportunity to close out the game, scoring in the 83rd minute after some chaos in the box. Following a blocked shot, SJ Pak collected a loose ball and fired the rebound past the keeper for the deciding tally.

Prior to the extended stoppage, the Bonnies (3-5-2, 0-2 A-10) had some momentum thanks to senior defender Hannah Walker's first career goal.

As Walker collected a pass from junior midfielder Nayelle Heredia following a free kick, Walker struck a high-arching shot that snuck just past Davidson goalkeeper Grace Stair's outstretched hand and into the top-right corner of the net, allowing the Bonnies to take the lead into intermission.

Though Bona held a 1-0 lead going into halftime, the Wildcats did not have any shortage of chances.

In the 22nd minute, sophomore midfielder Hannah Smith was called for a penalty in the box, leading to a free kick. As Paredes dove to her left, Davidson's Dakota Lyons blasted a shot to the right, but it sailed far over the crossbar to the relief of the Bonaventure sideline. A 13-2 shot discrepancy in favor of the hosts at the break along with multiple flurries of chances that were narrowly turned away kept Davidson fans in their seats.

The Wildcats wasted little time evening the score in the second half. Just five minutes in, as freshman defender Abigail Wysong's clearance was deflected in the box, the hosts' Sophia Widdon collected the rebound and fired it into the back of the net for the tie. Around 20 minutes later, the lightning delay was called.

Paredes made her second straight start in net, playing full-time and making four saves.
