Men's Soccer Returns Home to Host George Washington

The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team returns home to host George Washington on Saturday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies earned a point in the Atlantic 10 standings last Saturday with a 0-0 draw at Davidson. Goalkeeper Felix Schöne recorded a shutout, a performance that helped him earn Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors.

OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER
Graduate student Seth Hammond leads the Bona attack with four goals through eight games, the most in the Atlantic 10. He netted a pair of goals against Canisius and added scores in back-to-back games against Bucknell and Niagara earlier this season. Junior Kyle Macfarlane also scored three goals, ranking second in the conference.

BETWEEN THE PIPES
Freshman goalkeeper Felix Schöne anchors the Bonaventure defense. He ranks third in the A-10 with four shutouts, posting clean sheets against Saint Francis, Mercyhurst, Canisius and Davidson. Schöne also sits sixth in the conference with 21 saves.

ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON
  • The Revolutionaries are led by head coach Craig Jones, now in his 14th season. Jones guided GW to the 2015 Atlantic 10 regular season championship and was named A-10 Coach of the Year that same season.
  • George Washington dropped its A-10 opener last Saturday, falling 1-0 to Fordham, and enters the weekend with a 2-5-2 overall record. Last season, the Revolutionaries finished 1-6-1 in conference play and 4-12-1 overall.
  • Sophomore Louis Crofts leads the GW attack with five points (2G, 1A). His best performance came against Binghamton, where he scored both of his goals.
SERIES HISTORY
The Bonnies and Revolutionaries have a long history on the pitch, with George Washington holding a 9-6-3 edge in the all-time series. The teams most recently met last season, playing to a 0-0 draw in Washington, D.C.
