The GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 12 are men's soccer junior Winston Jory and women's swimming sophomore Sophie Baker.
Jory was named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Bonnies to a 1-0 shutout victory on the road at Saint Joseph's last Saturday.
Jory finished the contest with five saves while registering his fourth shutout of the season.
His biggest save of the contest came in the 81st minute when the Hawks had a one-on-one opportunity in front of the net. Jory came off his line to make a sliding save, preserving the shutout as Saint Joseph's did not threaten to score again.
On the year, Jory is tied for the A10 lead in shutouts while ranking second in save percentage (.816), third in saves per game (4.0), fourth in goals-against average (0.900) and fifth in total saves (40).
Baker opened the swim season with an impressive showing last weekend at the Rutgers Pre-Season Invitational in Piscataway, N.J.
She posted the women's highest individual Bonnie performance in the meet after placing fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.69.
Baker also helped contribute to two top five relay finishes. She swam a leg in the 200-freestyle relay team that touched the wall in fifth with a time of 1:34.8 and she helped the 200-medley team finish fourth with a time of 1:44.68.
