ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Four members of the St. Bonaventure baseball team spent their summers racking up awards in leagues around the country as Antonio Cordeiro, Derek Duval, Chris Hoalcraft and Owen Smith all earned all-star honors.

Cordiero was crowned as part of the All-Appalachian League Team after a standout summer with the Danville Otterbots.

Bonaventure's junior catcher did it all for the Virginia-based team, producing a slash line of .326/.460/.562 with a .992 OPS in 27 games. He belted four home runs and nine doubles while driving in 23 runs and scoring 15 times. His four homers tied for the team lead.

Senior Chris Hoalcraft earned all-league honors for the second consecutive summer, this time in the Perfect Game League. He hit .303 with a .443 on-base percentage, collecting 10 doubles with 26 RBIs for the Amsterdam Mohawks and totaled 44 hits during the season to take honorable mention all-league accolades. Last year, he was an all-star in the New York Collegiate Baseball League.

Bona newcomer Derek Duval also had a standout season with Amsterdam in the Perfect Game League. He was named to the league's All-Star Second Team after posting a 1.32 ERA with 29 strikeouts over 27.1 innings of work. He earned one win and two saves in his 16 appearances after transferring from the College of Charleston.

Closer to home, redshirt freshman Owen Smith picked up a spot on the New York Collegiate Baseball League all-star team after an impressive summer with the Olean Oilers. On the mound, he went 3-0 with a 1.49 ERA and 35 strikeouts across 36.1 innings of work while walking only two. He finished the season with an 0.74 WHIP. He also smacked three home runs with 14 RBIs at the plate.
