YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure women's track team posted a host of new personal bests in the final regular season meet of the indoor season Friday at the Youngstown State Last Chance Invitational.
Four Bonnies turned in new PRs in the mile, highlighted by three program individual top-10 times: Madison McMahon clocked in the second-fastest time in school history as she posted 5:18.23, a personal improvement of over three seconds. Naina Slaughter jumped from ninth to third on the program record board at 5:21.50, over eight seconds better than her previous PR. Gabriella Randazzo also moves into the top 10 at 5:34.02.
In the 200, senior captain Meghan Litteer moved into second in school history with a mark of 27.40. Also in sprints, freshman Brianna Reynolds leaps to third in program history for the 400 meters with her time of 1:03.46.
Freshman Sydney March turned in one of the shining mid-distance efforts on the day for the Bonnies with her run of 2:20.95 in the 800. With that effort, she catapulted to second individually in school history and placed 13th in Friday's race out of 70 competitors. Fellow freshman Gianna Bille also takes over sixth in the school record book at 2:26.02.
Senior Mia Winters showed the way for the Bonnies in the 3K at 10:34.79, her best time of the season, to place 11th out of 42 runners. Junior teammate Elise Brooks was right behind at 10:50.75, good enough to jump to third individually in school history for the event that Winters owns the record time for. Brooks beat her previous best time in the event by over 11 seconds.
QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH BOB MACFARLANE
"What stood out today with our women's team was their competitiveness and belief in themselves. They raced with confidence, trusted their training, and continue to grow in their race execution. A special shoutout to Elle Brooks and Kylie Paylor, who never back down and consistently fight to perform at their best. Our mid-distance group — Maddie McMahon, Sydney March, Naina Slaughter, and Gianna Bille — continues to shine at each meet. The progress for the women's team goes beyond the clock; it's showing in their poise and maturity, and that's what makes this group so exciting moving forward."
