VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The St. Bonaventure women's track team wrapped up the indoor season with three school records and seven personal bests over the weekend of competition at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
In the 800 meters on Friday, all three qualifying Bonnies posted new personal bests.
Sophomore Madeline McKillop broke her own school record, timing in at 2:19.45, nearly half a second better than her previous top mark. Behind her, classmate Madison McMahon set a big PR of 2:21.53, four seconds better than her old best time as she moves to third individually in the school record book. Freshman Gianna Bille also moved up in the school records with a run of 2:21.53, good for fifth in Bona's short indoor history.
Freshman Brianna Reynolds posted a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday, logging a mark of 9.27 to easily eclipse her previous PR of 9.51 set just one week earlier for her first of two new school top marks.
Reynolds recorded another program record in the 200 as she chimed in at 27.11, surpassing her old top Bona mark of 27.23 recorded in December.
In the 400 meters, Adria Magnusson ran the top SBU time at 1:02.66, just ahead of Malaika George who PR'ed at 1:03.44 to move into third individually in the school record book.
QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH BOB MACFARLANE
"Throughout the winter, the Bonnies showed steady improvement across all event groups, highlighted by multiple personal-best performances and growing competitive confidence. That progress was on full display at the conference meet, where athletes battled through pressure-packed moments and rose to the challenge against the Atlantic 10's top programs.
"This season's success was built on resilience. With severe winter weather making outdoor training nearly impossible, the team remained fully committed to the process. Butler Gym became a nightly training ground as athletes focused on agility, conditioning, and refining running mechanics. In the weight room, Strength Coach Mills played a key role in developing the physical strength necessary to handle the demands of the coaching staff's workouts.
"Assistant coaches Coach Lonzi (middle distance) and Coach Walter (sprints and hurdles) were instrumental in the team's growth, providing leadership and technical guidance throughout the season. Special thanks also go to Taylor Lubi and the Olean YMCA for opening their doors and allowing the team to utilize treadmills when needed to stay on track with training."
"More than just marks and times, this indoor season was about belief, unity, and building a stronger culture. With momentum on our side, the Bonnies now turn their focus to the outdoor season — tougher, hungrier, and ready for what's next."
