LITTLESTOWN, Pa. – Freshman Mitchell Sargent paced the St. Bonaventure men's golf team this week in the Temple Invitational held at The 1912 Club.

Sargent finished in a tie for 13^th on the individual leaderboard out of 66 competitors. As a team, the Bonnies placed ninth out of 12 squads.

St. Bonaventure turned in team scores of 302, 293 and 299 in the 54-hole event for an 894 total. Temple won its host tourney with a score of 862, one shot better than Delaware. The rest of the top five included Lehigh (868), La Salle (875) and Canisius (875).

After an opening round 74 on the par-70 layout in round one, Sargent caught fire in the second round on Monday. He drained an eagle on the par-5, 540-yard 12^th after carding four birdies on the front nine to finish with a 1-under 69 on the day, his new career-best round.

In the third round, he posted three more birdies and shot 75 for a 218 total.

Sophomore teammate Colin Barber was just behind in a tie for 15^th. Barber made four birdies in an opening round 71 and finished the day with a 73. He made three birdies in the final round as well when he registered 75 to finish just one shot behind his teammate for the week.

Junior Dante Bertoni was next in the Bonnies lineup with rounds of 77-75-76/228.

Also in the lineup for the Bonnies were freshman Reid Wilson (81-77-73/231) and junior Braddock Damore (80-76-78/234).
