The GoBonnies.com Student-Athletes of the Week presented by CPL for the week ending Sept. 27 are men's golf freshman Mitchell Sargent and women's cross country senior Chloe Fisher.
Sargent showed the way for the Bonnies this past week at the Temple Invitational held outside Philadelphia. He finished in a tie for 13th on the individual leaderboard out of 66 competitors.Â
After an opening round 74 on the par-70 layout in round one, Sargent caught fire in the second round on Monday. He drained an eagle on the par-5, 540-yard 12th after carding four birdies on the front nine to finish with a 1-under 69 on the day, his new career-best round.
In the third round, he posted three more birdies and shot 75 for a 218 total.
For the season, the Troy, Ohio native leads the team with a 72.6 scoring average through the team's first three events.
Fisher showed the way for the Bonnies with her PR time of 23:12.7 in the Crimson 6K race at Saturday's Lock Haven Invitational.
The Hamburg, N.Y. native bested her previous PR by nearly 16 seconds and vaults to 15th individually in the program record book.
On Saturday, Fisher placed 38th out of 183 runners in the Crimson race and set the tone for a host of new Bona's PRs behind her.
As a team, the Bonnies finished eighth out of 22 teams in the top race of the day.
