KICKING OFF
The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team hits the road this week for its final non-conference contest of the 2026 season, traveling to face Long Island on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Note that Sunday's game will be played at the SUSA Orlin & Cohen Sports Complex in Central Islip, N.Y. (271 Carleton Ave.) Game time is set for 1 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
St. Bonaventure capped off a four-game home stand this past Sunday, highlighting the program's Senior Day with a dominant 4-0 victory over Cleveland State. Graduate student Eduarda Silva gave the hosts some early momentum, scoring a goal in the fourth minute shortly after being honored during the pregame ceremony. Redshirt junior Audrey Cadman added to SBU's advantage just 15 minutes later, receiving a pass from freshman Sadie Richardson and punching in her second goal of the week.
 
Fellow freshman Aoife Murphy then put a bow on an impressive first half when she pinpointed a shot in the 36th minute, finding an opening in the top-left corner of the net to make put the hosts up, 3-0. Though both programs were held scoreless for the majority of the second half, rookie Alexis Olson added to the Bonnies' scoring just before the final whistle, winning a challenge in the box and subsequently scoring her first career goal.
 
Bona's three first half goals marked the program's largest scoring output in a single half against Division I competition since Aug. 26, 2018, when the team punched in three second-half goals at UMass Lowell. The match also marked the first time the Bonnies had scored four or more goals at home since the 2016 campaign, when the team accomplished the feat in back-to-back games with a 4-1 win over Niagara (9/4/2016) and a 6-0 result against Youngstown State (9/9/2016).
 
CAREER FIRSTS
Five different Bona's freshman have already scored the first goals of their collegiate careers in the non-conference portion of the team's 2026 schedule.
 
Ava Reybitz was the first to accomplish the feat, lifting the Bonnies to victory in their season opener against Saint Peter's after scoring the game's lone goal (8/16). Just four days later against Cornell, Liana Tata and Aoife Murphy each earned their first collegiate scores on the road (8/20). Ava Dimperio found the back of the net to help topple Le Moyne (8/27) and Alexis Olson capped off the first-year achievements most recently opposite Cleveland State (9/6).
 
BETWEEN THE POSTS
The Bonnies have utilized a rotating strategy in net, starting both senior Juliana Castellano and freshman Callie Turpin in three contests each.
 
Turpin earned the most recent starting nod against Cleveland State, recording six saves. She has stopped 14 total shots on the season for a save percentage of 82.4 percent. Castellano has made 15 total saves in three full-time appearances, compiling a save percentage of 78.9 percent.
 
SCOUTING LONG ISLAND

• The Sharks are led by 26-year veteran head coach Jim O'Brien, who is in his second season with the program.
• Long Island is currently winless after dropping tilts against Iona (3-0), Manhattan (3-1), Temple (3-0), Saint Peter's (2-1) and UConn (5-1). The Sharks will see their sixth chance at victory this coming Thursday against NJIT before hosting the Bonnies this weekend.
• Sophomore midfielder Flavie Boulanger leads the team with four points which came from two goals.

 
SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's foes have met just once before in a match which ended in favor of St. Bonaventure, 1-0, last season. This will mark SBU's first trip to Long Island.
