ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The women's swimming
and diving team faced off against Saint Francis (PA) Friday
afternoon at the Reilly Center pool, falling 153-134. Juniors
Kathryne Valentine and Natalya Ghostlaw had impressive finishes for
the Bonnies.
Valentine competed in the 100-yard backstroke touching for a
first-place finish at 1:00.80. She then put in another first-place
finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:10.13. Valentine
also competed in the 100-yard butterfly, picking up a third-place
finish, clocking in at 1:01.32.
Fellow classmate Natalya Ghostlaw competed in the 200-yard
freestyle, picking up a first-place finish with a time of 1:58.44.
She also took third in the 500-yard freestyle touching in at
5:23.57.
Senior Kara Small also made a splash for the Bonnies. Small
competed in the 1000-yard freestyle, coming in at 10:58.07 for a
second-place finish. She put in another second-place finish in the
200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.25. She also competed in
the 100-yard breaststroke, picking up a third place finish at
1:11.58.
Senior Taylor Merena notched a first-place finish in the 200-yard
butterfly, with a time of 2:14.65. While sophomore Jamie Noonan
competed in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in first-place with a
time of 5:11.48.
In diving action, sophomore Jaelyn Thurner took first-place in the
1-meter and 3 meter dives with scores of 231.30 and 213.98,
respectively. Sophomore Alycia Gossett finished second the diving,
picking up scores of 188.40 in the 1-meter and 181.20 in the
3-meter.
