AKRON, Ohio - The St. Bonaventure women's
swim team finished in tenth place on the final day of the Zippy
Invitational. During the 3-day tournament, the
women accumulated a final score of 306 points.
In the 200-yard butterfly, senior Taylor Merena
finished in sixth place in the 'A' finals with a time
of 2:10.64. In the 'B' final, junior Natayla
Ghostlaw touched the wall in 15th place with a time of
2:13.57.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, senior Kara Small
notched a 16th-place finish with a time of 17:58.00. Ghostlaw
finished in 18th-place (18:05.21) and senior Allison
Smith touched the wall in 21st-place (18:11.34).
Junior Kathryne Valentine finished in
15th-place in the 200-yard backstroke 'B' final with a
time of 2:09.76. In the 'C' final, sophomore
Jamie Noonan finished in 19th-place, clocking in
at 2:08.95.
In relay action, the 400-yard freestyle team, consisting of
Noonan, Smith, Lanae Petty, and Lauren
Ely, finished in 11th place with a time of 3:39.05.
Ohio University ended the competition in first place with 1318
points.
The Bonnies will be home on Friday, December 18 against
Canisius. The meet begins at 3:00.
