BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The
women's swimming and diving team faced off against Binghamton
Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center pool, falling
135-107.
Senior
Allison Smith had a big day in the pool. Smith
competed in the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard freestyle, and the
500-yard freestyle. She finished in second place in all three with
times of 1:56.78, 54.19, and 5:16.61, respectively.
Junior
Kathryn Valentine also had a big day for the
Bonnies. Valentine competed in the 200-yard backstroke where she
notched a first-place finish with a time of 2:09.17. In the
200-yard freestyle she touched in third-place with a time of
2:00.80.
In
the 200-yard IM, the Bonnies took the top three spots. Sophomore
Jamie Noonan came in first-place with a time of
2:15.48, seniors Kara Small finished in
second-place and classmate Kaitlyn Heller finished
in third-place, clocking in at 2:16.68 and 2:17.91,
respectively.
Small
also had a first-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a
time of 2:29.82. While
Noonan also had a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke,
touching in at 2:10.25.
In
relay action, the 400-yard medley relay team of Valentine,
Kayla Cobb, Taylor Merena, and
Lanae Petty finished in first-place with a time of
4:01.61.
In
the diving portion of the meet, sophomore Jaelyn
Thurner took first-place in the 1-meter dive with a score
of 205.28, and second-place in the 3-meter dive with a score of
167.10. Classmate Alycia Gossett finished in
fourth-place in the 1-meter and in third-place in the 3-meter with
scored of 174.00 and 163.58 respectively.
The
Bonnies take on Georgetown next Saturday at 1 p.m. at
Georgetown.
