ST. BONAVENTURE N.Y. – The St.
Bonaventure women's swimming and diving team fell to the University
of Buffalo 125.5-93.5 today in the final home meet of the
season.
The evening's meet honored this year's senior class.
One of them, Kara Small, came up big for the
Bonnies. Small placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke,
touching in at 2:29.97. In the 500-yard freestyle she finished in
second place with a time of 5:12.92 and she notched a third-place
finish in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 158.63.
Fellow senior Allison Smith also had an
impressive day for the Brown and White. She sprinted to a
first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.98.
She also competed in the 1000-yard freestyle where she finished
with a time of 10:48.80 and second place.
Junior Kathryne Valentine competed in the
200-yard backstroke and came in first place, clocking in at
2:07.76.
Other seniors honored at tonight's meet were Lauren
Ely, Katie Heller, and Taylor
Merena.
In diving, sophomore Alycia Gossett had second
place finishes in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of
162.98 and 174.23.
The Bonnies will be back in the pool on tomorrow at Niagara
University. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
