BUFFALO, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure
women's swimming and diving team holds second place and a two-point
lead over Duquesne after the first day of the Atlantic 10
Championships at the Flickinger Athletic Center on Wednesday.
In the first event of the A-10s, the Bonnies secured third place
in the 200-yard medley relay a slim .05 seconds above Xavier
University.
The Brown and White placed sixth in the 800-yard freestyle relay
with a time of 7:38.18. Seniors Allison Smith and
Kara Small, junior Natalya
Ghostlaw and sophomore Jamie
Noonan touched the wall 1.7 seconds behind La Salle.
At the end of the day, Fordham University is in first place with
80 points followed by St. Bonaventure in second with 58 points.
Fordham secured a 24-point lead over third-place Duquesne, La
Salle, and the Massachusetts who are tied with 56 points. Xavier
holds sixth place with 52 points.
Thursday morning trials beginning at 10:30 a.m. Thursday's
finals at 6:30 p.m.
