Cross Country Opens Season at Duquesne

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - The St. Bonaventure men's and women's cross country teams will start off the 2010 season at the Duquesne Duals this Saturday in Pittsburgh, Pa.

New to the Bonnies are head coach Bob Macfarlane with first season assistant coaches Bob Ring and Dr. Robin Valeri. Assistant coach Chris Wood begins his third season with St. Bonaventure.

In the 2009 season-opener , the St. Bonaventure men's team placed ninth on the 8k Schenley Oval layout, while the women placed ninth at a distance of 5k.

 Returning competitors for the men's team include graduate student Rahkeem Wright, who clocked in at 35:23.2 in the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championships. Junior Stephen Ross and sophomore Adam McDermott will also return to compete for the Brown and White.

For the women, seniors Tabitha Slachciak, who clocked in the Atlantic 10 Championships at 25:32.9, and Kimberly Fuller will return along with junior Elizabeth Moran.

Duquesne swept the competition at the 2009 invitational.
