Bonnies Welcome Philly Duo to McGraw-Jennings This Weekend

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. –The St. Bonaventure women's soccer team (3-8-1) will host a pair of weekend Atlantic 10 Conference games at McGraw-Jennings Field against the Temple Owls (3-7-2) Friday at 3 p.m. and the St. Joseph's Hawks (6-4-1) Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Bonnies enter this weekend's games after two road conference losses, 1-0 at La Salle last Friday and 2-0 at Fordham last Sunday.  Through 12 games, redshirt senior defender Shannon Van Riper leads the team with four goals and eight points. Sophomore midfielder/forward Brittany Charles leads the team with four assists.

The Owls come into Friday's game after losing their conference opener at St. Joseph's 1-0 last Saturday. Senior midfielder Kate Yurkoic leads the team with two goals and four points. Freshman Paula Jurewicz and senior Casey Greco share the team lead in assists with two each.

The Hawks, winners of two straight games, have a 4-3 road record this season. Junior forward/midfielder Mo Hawkins leads the team in goals scored with four and in scoring with nine points. Junior defender Nicole King and sophomore midfielder Jill Root each have two assists, tied for the team lead.

Following this weekend's games, St. Bonaventure will travel to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
