The men's swimming and diving team hosts their first home meet of the season against Cleveland State this Saturday Nov 10 in the Reilly Center pool. The meet will begin at 1 p.m.
The Bonnies hope to use rally from last year's loss to Cleveland State (144-99) when they traveled to Cleveland, Ohio.
In that meet, Elias Homerin earned a first-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:41.99) and a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.25). Homerin also finished in second-place in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in with a time of 1:56.03.
In the 200-yard IM, Ripley Danner finished in second-place (1:58.50) and Jimmy Martin earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 1:43.34.
Cleveland State recently tied Miami Ohio on Nov 3 with a score of 150-150.
The Bonnies are coming off of wins over LaSalle (192.5-139.5) and Xavier (188-134) in their first conference meeting of the season on Saturday Nov 3 at the Spire Institute.
Junior Jimmy Martin showcased his talents by posting three first-place finishes in the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyle events, winning the 50 with a time of 21.04, touching in at 45.80 in the 100 free and getting the gold in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:41.53.
Vatslav Lets sprinted in for a first-place finish in both the 200-yard backstroke and the 500-yard freestyle, with times of 1:52.19 and 4:37.91, respectively. He also placed second in the 100 fly with a time of 51.07.
Senior Mike Murphy led the way in diving, finishing first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter with scores of 293.10 and 308.40. Michael Pilyugin also had a first-place finish in the 100-yard back with a time of 52.22.
The Brown and White take a few weeks off after this meet and return to the pool Nov 30 for the Akron Invite in Akron, Ohio.
