AKRON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming team return to the pool Friday Nov. 30 when they attend the Zippy Invitational hosted by The University of Akron at Ocasek Natatorium.

The invite will begin with prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. on Friday and continue on through Sunday Dec. 2. 

Along with St. Bonaventure attending the invitational will be The University at Buffalo, Bloomsburg, Clarion, Indiana (Pa.), Niagara University. In addition to this will be the women's teams from Akron University, Illinois State, Ohio University and Toledo University.

The men are coming off of a weekend at the Pittsburgh Invite. Throughout those three days, Michael Pilyugin had a second-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.38.

Vatslav Lets came in just behind his teammate in the 100 back with a time of 50.77, good for a fourth-place finish. Lets also took third-place in the 400 IM with a time of 4:01.48. Michael Murphy finished with a bronze medal in the 1-meter diving with a score of 290.65 in the finals.

The Bonnies take a few weeks off and return to the pool on Jan. 19 when they host Binghamton in the Reilly Center pool.
