The Short Story:
After finally playing ball after a postponed game on Saturday and a rain delay today, the Bonnies struggled against the Saint Josehp's Hawks, losing 15-3. Pitcher Joel Rosencrance went 4.2 innings, giving up all 15 runs on 12 hits. Collin Forgey and Kevin Kratochwill each had three RBI for the Hawks. Brian O'Keefe scored four runs. SJU pitcher Daniel Thorpe shutdown the Bonnies, holding them scoreless over six innings of work and just three hits.

How It Happened:

  • With two outs in the first inning, Saint Joseph's scored three runs off two doubles, one from Mike Muha, who scored Cunningham, and the second from Kevin Kratochwill, driving home Muha and Cunningham.
  • The Hawks added five more runs in the bottom of the second inning. With a single to centerfield, Brian O'Keefe drove home Ryan Pater with one down. On the ensuing at bat, Collin Forgey drove home Chirs Hueth on a single to center. Then Cunningham sent O'Keefe home on a sac fly. Muha drove home Forgey, and Kratochwill scored Muha tallying his second double of the day.
  • In the bottom of the third, Forgey drove the ball to left-center field for a two-run triple. Cunningham then sent Forgey home on a single for his third RBI of the day.
  • After a quiet fourth inning, the Hawks added four more runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth. O'Keefe doubled, scoring Hueth, and Muha scored on a fielder's choice, which sent home O'Keefe. Joel Rosencrance was pulled for Dan Trimble on the hill, who gave up an two-RBI single to Cal Jadacki, bringing the score to 15-0.
  • St. Bona's Andy LaLonde, who pinch hit for Ryan Cox, came up wit the bases loaded in the top of the seventh with one out. He grounded out to third, but all the runners advanced and Brian Weightman scored, giving the Bonnies their first run of the day.
  • In the top of the eighth, Dylan Dunn struck out swinging on a dropped third strike, and was thrown out at first for the second out of the inning. But, J Baldinelli scored on the play, giving the Bonnies their second run of the day. Then, Tyler Bell drove the ball to deep left field, driving home Thad Johnson to make it a 15-3 game. 
Inside The Box Score:
  • Tyler Bell had two of the Bonnies seven hits, going 2-4 with one run scored and an RBI.
  • Brian Weightman also went 2-4.
  • Thad Johnson walked twice in four plate appearances and scored a run.

On Deck:
The Bonnies will look to break their seven-game skid as they return home to Fred Handler Park to take on UB in a double header on April 1. Game times are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.
