The Starting Five Notes:
1. St. Bonaventure, which has won two of its last three games to even its Atlantic 10 Conference record at 8-8, makes the trip west to face Saint Louis in the second-to-last game of the regular season. It will be the first meeting of the teams this year. The Bonnies enter Wednesday's contest in a tie for seventh place in the A-10 with two games remaining.

2. St. Bonaventure's eight Atlantic 10 wins are tied for the program's second-most during Mark Schmidt's eight seasons as head coach. The 2010-11 team also won eight conference games, while the 2011-12 team went 10-6 in the regular season prior to winning the A-10 Tournament.

3. Senior center Youssou Ndoye, is one of only two A-10 players averaging a double-double. The 7-footer stands second in the A-10 in both rebounding (10.4) and blocked shots (2.6/game). Seven of his 10 double-doubles this season have been against Atlantic 10 opponents.

4. Junior forward Dion Wright has scored in double figures 11 of the last 12 games. Over that span, he went 71-123 (58%) from the field and averaged 14.5 points. Classmate Marcus Posley snapped out of a shooting slump in the win over Duquesne last Saturday, going 6-9 from three-point range on his way to a game-high 29 points. His hot shooting coincided with his move to point guard. Posley, who is the A-10's third-leading scorer, had gone 4-40 from long range over the previous five games.

5. Andell Cumberbatch has played his best basketball of the season over the last four games. In addition to his usual strong defense, he averaged 13.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and made 12 of his 23 three-point attempts (52 percent).

St. Bonaventure vs. SLU: The Last Meeting
March 14, 2014 at the Atlantic 10 Tournament: St. Bonaventure 71, Saint Louis 68
Jordan Gathers made a three-pointer coming off a Youssou Ndoye screen just before the final horn sounded to give the Bonnies the upset and a spot in the A-10 Tournament semifinals. Gathers' game-winning triple capped a second-half comeback that saw the Bonnies overcome a 10-point halftime deficit.  After halftime, St. Bonaventure shot a blistering 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the floor and 66.7 percent (6-of-9) from deep and were led by Kloof and Matt Wright, each of whom scored 22 points. The duo also helped force A-10 Player of the Year Jordair Jett to just nine points on 4-of-11 shooting with six turnovers.

Series Notes
This will be the 16th meeting in a series that Saint Louis leads 10-5. The Bonnies and Billikens last met in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Tournament in Brooklyn (3/14/14) where Jordan Gathers made the game-winning three-pointer just before the buzzer. Last year at Saint Louis on Jan. 14, the Bonnies dropped a hard-fought 66-60 decision. Saint Louis was ranked in the top 25 in both games between the teams last season.

SLU Notes:
• Saint Louis dropped its last two games to fall to last place in the A-10 standings. Saturyda, the Billikens dropped a 78-50 decision at home to George Mason. The Billikens lost at Duquesne on Feb. 25 by a 79-66 final.
• Saint Louis is 9-8 at Chaifetz Center compared to 1-9 on the road. The Bills have beaten LaSalle, Saint Joseph's and Duquesne at home.
• Freshman forward Milik Yarbrough leads a very young team in scoring (10.6) and rebounding (5.0). Ash Yacoubou is the Bills' second-leading scorer at 9.1 points per game followed by Mike Crawford (7.0) and Austin McBroom (7.0).
• Saint Louis is next to last in the A-10 in rebounding margin and is last in blocked shots.

St. Bonaventure's Last Game: Bonnies 92, Duquesne 75
Saturday afternoon at Reilly Center, St. Bonaventure re-discovered its shooting touch and completed a season sweep of Duquesne. Marcus Posley snapped out of a slump in a big way, scoring game-high 29 points as he made eight of his 14 shot overall, went 6-9 from beyond the arc and 7-8 at the free throw line. Andell Cumberbatch contributed 18 points while Youssou Ndoye recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Three-point shooting powered the Bonnies' 46-34 halftime lead, as the team went 9-15 in the opening 20 minutes. Posley made five himself, while Cumberbatch contributed three. Posley knocked down a three-pointer from just inside the center-court logo in the final seconds of the half to give the Bonnies their 12-point halftime lead. St. Bonaventure was able to hold off the Dukes and maintain a steady lead throughout the second half. Duquesne cut the deficit to five points in the first five minutes of the second half, but the Bonnies pulled ahead and held a double-digit lead for the final 5:34 of the game.

Eight Atlantic 10 Wins
A look at the top Atlantic 10 Conference win totals in a season in program history:
Wins                       Season

10                           2011-12
                               1985-86
                               1982-83
9                             2000-01
                               1994-95

                               2001-02
                               1998-99

Record-Tying 7 Road Wins
St. Bonaventure is 7-7 on the road this season (3-2 in the non-conference and 4-4 in Atlantic 10 games). The seven road wins are tied for most ever in the history of the program. The record was set by three teams: the 2008-09, 2001-02 and 1994-95 Bonnies clubs.

Dion Wright's Consistency
Following a sophomore season that could easily been described as a breakout, St. Bonaventure junior Dion Wright was named to Sport Illustrated's list of the "Projected Breakout Players" for this year. The 6-7 forward from Carson, Calif., averaged 8.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game coming off the bench in all 33 games as a sophomore. Wright more than doubled his per-game scoring and rebounding averages from his freshman season. So far this season, Wright has lived up to the hype. Notes on Wright's season:
• He has scored in double figures 22 times including 11 of the last 12 games.
• Wright is 13th in the A-10 in scoring at 13.1 points per game.
• Wright, who has rarely left the floor this year, is also averaging 6.7 rebounds a game, which ranks 11th among A-10 players.
• Had back-to-back 20-point games against two of the A-10's best defensive teams – 22 at Rhode Island (tying his career high) and 21 against LaSalle.
• He has five double-doubles this season.
• Well-known for his tenacity under the backboard, Wright has snagged 83 offensive rebounds (3.1 pg), which is sixth-best among all A-10 players.

Ndoye's Rebounding, Defense Constants
• Youssou Ndoye ranks second in the A-10 in both rebounding (10.4) and blocked shots (2.6 per game). He ranks 12th in Division I in rebounding and 27th in blocked shots.
• Ndoye's average of 7.0 defensive rebounds per game ranks 13th nationally.
• Ndoye has also blocked at least one shot in every game but two (LaSalle/GW) this season with 15 games of three or more rejections.
• He has 10 double-doubles this year, six more than he had last season.
• With his 12 rebounds against Maryland Eastern Shore, Ndoye became only the fourth player in school history to record 500 rebounds (he now has 674) and at least 150 blocks (he now has 198).

Ndoye Milestone Watch; Big Man Climbing Single Season Rebound List
• Ndoye needs 14 rebounds to crack the top 10 single season rebounding totals in program history. Ndoye has 271 rebounds this season. Should he be able to maintain his pace, Ndoye would easily pass George Carter, whose 285 rebounds in 1965-66 rank 10th.
• Ndoye needs 71 points to reach 1,000 for his career.
• He needs two blocks to reach 200 for his career. Ndoye will be the third player in program history to reach that mark. Blocks have been recorded since 1975.

Cumberbatch Playing With Renewed Confidence
A quiet person off the court, the senior swingman Andell Cumberbatch has become a leader in this, his second season at St. Bonaventure. The former standout at Barton (Kansas) C.C. has played some of his best basketball over the last four games. In addition to his usual strong defense, he averaged 13.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and made 12 of his 23 three-point attempts (52 percent). Prior to scoring 12 points against UMass on Feb. 11, Cumberbatch had not reached double figures in the previous six games. The East Orange, N.J., native played perhaps his best all-around game of the season when he scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the OT win at Saint Joseph's Feb. 21. He scored 18 points in the Feb. 28 win over Duquesne.

Posley's Scoring Success
Replacing 1,000-point scorer Matthew Wright '14, who averaged 16 points per game as a senior, was not what anyone expected of Marcus Posley. The junior guard, who spent a year at Ball State and then transferred to Indian Hills (Iowa) junior college for the 2013-14 season, entered the year somewhat under the radar. But Posley has flourished at St. Bonaventure, where he has become one of the top scorers in the Atlantic 10. Notes on his season:
• Posley is third in the A-10 in scoring at 16.7 points per game.
• He has ten 20-point games this season, the third-most of any A-10 player, most recently 29 in the Feb. 28 win over Duquesne.
• In that win over Duquesne, he went 6-9 from three-point range, ending a slump during which he was 4-40 over five games.
• Posley is third in the A-10 in three-point field goals per game (2.6).
• He has scored in double figures in 22 of 27 games.

Gregg Coming On Strong
An athletic big man who can play either  forward spot, 6-7 sophomore Denzel Gregg has played better and better over the last month, earning his second start of the season in the Feb. 28 win over Duquesne. Gregg made his first career start on Jan. 31 against LaSalle and had two points and four rebounds in that game. He then helped spark the Bonnies in the second half at Davidson when he had two blocks. Gregg was at his best in the win over VCU when he scored a career high 10 points and blocked three shots in 17 minutes off the bench. Nineteen of his 21 blocks for the year have been against A-10 opponents. Gregg, who sat out the first six games of the season under a team suspension, is averaging 3.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 block per game. Last season, the Syracuse, N.Y., native played in 26 games and averaged 2.0 points.
