Game One:

The St. Bonaventure baseball team made its presence known on Tuesday, April 7 at Niagara, as the Bonnies jumped out to an early four-run lead after the top of the first inning. Junior infielder Thad Johnson got things started for the Brown and White with a single to right field. St. Bonaventure's next five hitters each recorded a hit of their own, including a double for Ted Dilts and three singles for Dylan Dunn, Tyler Bell and Tyler Walter, which all resulted in runs for the Bonnies.

After Niagara got two runs back in the bottom of the first off a sac-fly and wild pitch, St. Bonaventure would eventually earn those two runs back in the top of the third. Jared Baldinelli reached on an error by the third-baseman that allowed Walter to score and advanced Danny Urban to third. During the next at-bat, the Niagara catcher allowed a ball to pass him, which allowed Urban to score to give SBU a 6-2 lead after three.  

In the top of the sixth inning, St. Bonaventure's catcher Dunn singled through the left side that scored Johnson from second.

The Purple Eagles added a run in the bottom of the seventh on a sac-fly.

Seeing time on the mound today was Aaron Phillips, Brandon Schlimm and Thad Johnson. Phillips started the game for the Bonnies and tossed one inning, while giving up two runs on one hit. In relief for Phillips was Schlimm, who threw four innings and struck out six and allowed three hits. Johnson saw time in the final two innings to secure the win for the Bonnies. Johnson allowed one hit and recorded two strikeouts.

Five different batters for St. Bonaventure recorded multiple hits. Leading the way was Tyler Bell with three, followed by Johnson, Dunn, Walter and Urban, who all had two. Today's game was Bell's third game this season in which he recorded three hits in a single game.

Game Two:

Its déjà vu all over again, as the Bonnies and Purple Eagles tie in game two of doubleheader series for the second time this season. St. Bonaventure improved their record to an unusual 2-0-2 against Niagara this season with the result.

St. Bonaventure and Niagara would trade runs in the second inning. The Bonnies took the first lead of the game in the top half off a Bradley Gresock single to center field that scored Dylan Dunn. In the next half inning, Daniel Procopio scored Anthony Firenzi on a groundout to the shortstop.

The game didn't remained tied long, as the Bonnies added two runs in the top of the third inning. Thad Johnson continued his hot-hitting with a double to center field that scored Cole Peterson. In the next at-bat, Dunn drove in Johnson with his own double, but this time it went down the left field line. Niagara tacked one on in the next half inning off its own double.

After three and a half scoreless innings, Niagara forced a tie in the bottom of the seventh with a sac fly to center field that scored Taylor Hackett from third.

The seven-inning game would be called before the game went into extra innings due to darkness.

On the mound for the Bonnies was Drew Teller, who went five innings and registered four strikeouts, while allowing four hits. Only one run of his two runs allowed was earned.
