The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team dropped the final dual meet of the 2016 season to the University at Buffalo Bulls 172-69 Friday evening at the Reilly Center Pool.
The Bonnies were only able to manage one individual event win on the night. Senior Michael Pilyugin took the 100-yd backstroke title swimming a final time of 51.06.
The second win for the Bonnies came in the 200-yd freestyle relay. The team of Michael White, Michael Pilyugin, Jordan Powers and Matt Taccard finished first with a time of 1:24.75.
In the 200-yd medley relay, the team of Pilyugin, Matthew Schutt, White and Taccard posted a second place finish with a time of 1:33.83.
Logan Hellwig swam well in the 50-yd freestyle placing second with a time of 21.76. Other top swims for St. Bonaventure were Michael White in the 200-yd IM (1:55.58) and Eddie Donovan in the 100-yd butterfly (52.46
Next Up: The Bonnies will begin preparing for the 2016 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, which are set to begin Wed. February 17, at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
