AKRON, Ohio – Strengthened by the strong showings of its relay squads, the St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team sits in second place after the second day of competition at the Zippy Invite hosted by Akron University.
St. Bonaventure sits in second with 979 points, behind only Oakland University who has 1,504.5 points. Clarion (881), Niagara (840) and Bloomsburg (761.5) rounds out the top five.
The 200 medley relay team of Tjaard Krusch, Jordan Powers, Logan Hellwig and Matt Taccard took third place with a time of 1:31.67. In the 800 freestyle relay, Krusch, David Shakhnazarov, John Pietrucha and Joseph Malafronte finished in sixth place by ringing in a time of 7:03.96.
Freshman Ethan Carr secured third place in the 400 IM swimming a time of 4:06.47, while fellow freshman Maciej Danilewski finished sixth with a time of 4:15.77.
The Bonnies would take two of the top four spots in the 100 backstroke. Krusch finished in third place, clocking in at 49.73 and Taccard took fourth finishing in 51.36.
The Brown and White return to the pool at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.
