Bonnies Men's Swimming and Diving Visits Cornell Friday

ST. BONAVENTURE at CORNELL
Friday, Jan. 19 – Diving 12:00 p.m./Swimming 4:00 p.m.
Ithaca, N.Y.

STORYLINE
The St. Bonaventure University men's swimming and diving team travels to Cornell on Friday for a dual meet against the Big Red. Diving will start at 12:00 p.m. and the swimming events will begin at 4:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies defeated Binghamton, 206-78, on Sunday as they closed their home schedule. The Brown and White won 15 out of 16 events and were led by seniors Ben Galinski and Jordan Powers, both winning two individual races.

ABOUT CORNELL
Cornell is currently 1-6 on the season and 1-5 in the Ivy League. The Big Red have lost four dual meets in a row with their last win coming against Dartmouth on Nov. 11. Entering the 2017-18 season Cornell had won 14 straight dual meets before falling to MIT in the season opener. Cornell was, however, the winner of the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational, defeating 10 other schools in that competition.

KRUSCH EARNS HONORS
Freshman Tjaard Krusch took home Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors for his performance against Binghamton on Sunday. He was the winner of the 100-backstroke and the 200-IM, individually. Krusch was a member of the 200-medley relay team that took first-place as well. The Dorsheim, Germany native now has six individual and relay wins on the season.

ALWAYS IMPROVING
The second half of the season has been good to the Bonnies. SBU finished second at the Zippy Invite behind only Oakland to finish 2017. After the holiday break, St. Bonaventure opened up with its dual meet victory against Binghamton. The Bonnies only have one more dual meet, at Niagara on Jan. 27, before the Atlantic 10 Championships this season.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies will close out their regular season schedule on Saturday, Jan. 27 on the road at Little Three rival Niagara. The meet is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
