STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – An explosive second inning from host Penn State set the tone Monday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park as the host Nittany Lions dispatched the St. Bonaventure baseball team, 10-2.

St. Bonaventure led their Big Ten foes in the early going, with a leadoff single from Sam Fuller on the first pitch of the game setting the table. Fuller would later score on a passed ball for a 1-0 lead.

Starter Casey Vincent set down the side easily in order in the home half of the first, putting up a perfect inning on just six pitches.

From there, though, Penn State would take control.

The hosts batted around in the second inning, scoring seven runs on eight hits to surge ahead.

Jeff Palczewski knocked home Fuller from third with an RBI single to get Bona a run closer in the third inning. 

That would be as close as the Bonnies would get, though.

Penn State added three runs in the seventh for complete insurance and the Nittany Lion bullpen recorded four scoreless innings. 

Fuller and Mike Magnanti each had two hits to account for four of Bona's seven hits on the night.

Vincent (4-3) was charged with the loss (4.0 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) with all of the damage done during the second inning. Braydon Nelson tossed a scoreless frame out of the bullpen.

St. Bonaventure will round out the season by traveling to Rhode Island for a three-game series beginning Thursday.
