Bonnies On The Road To Dayton For Three-Game Series

The St. Bonaventure University baseball team travels to Dayton for a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Thursday, May 11. Game one is scheduled for noon. The series schedule was changed due to inclement weather in the forecast Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Senior Pierce Hendershot hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning to propel the Bonnies past Richmond on Saturday, 8-7.
  • With the Bonnies trailing late following a back-and-forth battle, Hendershot stepped up to the plate with two outs in the top of the seventh and hit a three-run round tripper off Richmond's reliever Esteban Rodriguez to move the Brown and White from two down to one up with what would be the game-winning blast.
  • Graduate student Liam Devine earned the victory out of the bullpen by throwing five innings in relief, only allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts.

  • With his masterful outing in relief Saturday, Devine has factored into the decision in seven of Bona's eight wins on the season.
  • For the season, Devine leads the team with a 4.89 ERA and is tied for a team-high 14 appearances.
  • In 42.1 innings pitched, Devine has struck out 40 batters.

  • Jack Putney leads the team with a .322 batting average and 12 doubles. He is also tied for first in RBIs (23) with Jackson DeJohn.
  • Putney is second with a .463 slugging percentage, .384 on-base percentage, and 48 hits so far this season.
  • Redshirt junior Adam Rankie has a team-high 49 hits and 30 runs, while being second with a .306 batting average and nine doubles.
  • DeJohn leads the team with seven home runs.
  • In A-10 play, Putney has recorded a .324 batting average with 15 runs batted in, while Thomas Grilli is hitting .319 with five doubles.
  • On the mound in conference play, Ryan O'Connell has a 2.08 ERA in six appearances, while Liam Devine has struck out 22 batter in 22.1 innings pitched.
