ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Four members of the St. Bonaventure women's cross country/track teams have earned selection to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team: juniors Lauren McGee and Emily Peterson as well as sophomores Camryn Cwiklinski and Olivia Ippolito.
The 2023 Academic All-District Women's Track & Field / Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. Honorees were selected by sports information directors across the country.
A native of Hamburg, N.Y., McGee is an inclusive, early and childhood education major with a 3.96 cumulative GPA. During cross country season, she placed in the team's top-seven in all but one meet. She also registered three new top-10 individual program times during the track seasons as she now stands fifth for the outdoor 3000 meters and 10th for the 5000 meters as well as sixth in the indoor 3000. She qualified for the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships in the 5000 and in the 3000 for the conference Indoor Championships.
Peterson is a native of Kane, Pa. and is also an inclusive, early and childhood education major where she owns a 3.95 cumulative GPA. She qualified for the 1500 meters at A-10 Outdoor Championships where she ran the ninth-fastest individual time in program history this spring. Peterson also jumped to the fifth spot on the program record board for the 3000 meters at this year's A-10 Indoor Championships. During cross country season, she finished inside the team's top-seven three times including a fifth-place run for the squad at the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Cwiklinski, a product of Clarence, N.Y., is a business major with a 3.60 GPA. During competition this season, she was a part of two record track relays and also ran the fourth-fastest individual times in program history for the outdoor 400 and indoor 800. She helped her team set new school records in both the indoor and outdoor 4x400 relays.
Ippolito, a native of Orchard Park, N.Y., is a childhood education major with a 3.52 cumulative GPA. In track, she was part of the 4x400 relay record times in both indoor and outdoor seasons. Â She also set the No. 6 time for the 1500 meters on the program record book during outdoor season and the 10th-fastest mile time during indoor.
