Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies grad student Dylan Cachia. For previous installments in the series click here.
Dylan Cachia joined the St. Bonaventure swim team as a graduate student during the 2023-24 season, coming in during the spring semester. During that season, Cachia competed at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the 1000-freestyle and finished with a time of 9:50.88.
Prior to his Bonaventure stint, Cachia won the Maltese National Championship in the 200, 400, 800 and 1500-freestyle. Cachia also represented Malta at the Junior Worlds and European Championships.
Dylan Cachia is a native of Marsacala, Malta.
What is your favorite memory playing your sport? Representing my country at the World Junior Championship in Budapest
What is your favorite hobby to do outside of playing your sport? Watching Mixed Martial Arts, Chess and Reading
Where is your dream vacation spot? Hawaii
What is the best part about being a part of your Bonnies team? The team environment

Why did you choose St. Bonaventure? Respected business school and swim team

Where is your favorite place you've traveled with the team? Virginia
What is your unpopular opinion? Most of rap music is horrible

If you weren't playing your sport, what other sport would you most like to play? MMA
What is your favorite social media app and why? Messenger. I find it user friendly and easy to message my friends
