ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure cross country/track head coach Bob Macfarlane has announced the signing of seven student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, joining the program for 2025-26: incoming freshmen Gianna Bille, Sydney March, Kal Heyman, Jackson Frisa, Jack Handman, Nate Viele and Canton Wetzel.
Bille joins the Bonnies from St. Marys, Pa. and becomes the third member of her family to run for the Bonnies along with teammate Sophia and older brother and alum Drew. At Elk County Catholic High, she was the PIAA District 9 champion for the 800 meters and also was a two-time champ in the District 9 4x800m. She also qualified for states in cross country four times while helping her squad win a pair of District 9 team championships.
A National Honor Society member, she plans to major in dual-degree nursing.

March is a product of North Tonawanda, N.Y. where she was named first team all-conference three times. She helped Niagara Wheatfield High win its league title in track twice and also score another league crown in cross country this fall.
A high honor roll student, she intends to major in marketing.

Frisa is a native of Spencerport, N.Y. who is a three-time First Team All-Monroe County honoree during his high school career. He also has won the Section V championship in the 4x800 twice and set the school record in the indoor and outdoor 4x800.
A National Honor Society student, he plans to major in economics.

Handman comes to St. Bonaventure from Poughkeepsie, N.Y. where he has been a four-time all-league selection at Arlington High School. He helped his team finish fifth at the New York State Championship meet while running the steeplechase, 3200, 5K and 10K.
An Honor Roll student, he intends to major in sports media.

Heyman joins the program from Longport, N.J. where he runs for Ocean City High. He was named First Team Cape Atlantic League for cross country and also took First Team Atlantic City Press honors for both cross country and track. In track, he was selected first team all-county for the 1600 meters as well as cross country.
He helped power his squad to two South Jersey Group III cross country team titles and four cross country and track Cape May County crowns. His 4 x mile team also qualified for New Balance Nationals.

Viele hails from Rochester where he runs for West Irondequoit High. He is a First Team All-County honoree and helped his team to a pair of divisional championships.
An Honor Roll student, he plans on majoring in accounting.

Wetzel is a native of Frederick, Maryland, who runs for Frederick High School. He was named a Second Team All-Conference selection three times and First Team once while also serving as his team captain each of the last two years.
A National Honor Society member, he plans to major in sports media.
