Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies track sophomore Brecken Riley. For previous installments in the series, click here.
Sophomore Brecken Riley joined the St. Bonaventure track team from Minnesota where he attended Northfield High School.
As a freshman, Riley competed in four different events on the track. During the indoor season, he ran in the 1000 meter run and 600-meter run, posting personal bests of 2:43.03 for the 1000 at the RIT February Invitational and 1:30.34 at the Marc Deneault Invitational for the 600.
During the outdoor season last spring, he competed in the 800 and 1500-meter run. He ran a PR of 2:05.35 for the 800 at the Brockport Multi & Invitational and 4:14.17 for the 1500 at the Saint Francis University Red Flash Open.
Prior to Bonaventure, he qualified for the Minnesota state track meet in the 4x800 and also played football and hockey.
Brecken Riley is a native of Northfield, Minnesota.

What is the best part about being a part of your Bonnies team? The travel and friends that are made

Why did you choose St. Bonaventure? I wanted to see a new part of the country and get out of my comfort zone. The community on campus was a huge factor
