Bonnies Men’s Soccer Visits Dayton Saturday

The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team returns to action Saturday, Oct. 18 when it travels to Dayton. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Baujan Field in Ohio.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies' upset bid against then nationally ranked George Mason fell just short last Saturday at the Marra Athletics Complex, falling to the Patriots, 6-5.

Seth Hammond had a game to remember for the Bonnies, tallying six points on a goal and four assists.

Etienne Godin and Callum Shillington each netted their first career goals as Godin notched his score in the 34th minute while Shillington found the back of the net in the 56th minute. Shillington also assisted on Hammond's goal in the 86th minute.

Also scoring for the Brown and White were Daniel Helle and Neshawn Sutherland.

Bona's five goals against George Mason were also the most by the Bonnies in program history in an Atlantic 10 contest.

WEEKLY HONORS
Following his performance against the Patriots, Seth Hammond was selected as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday afternoon before being named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week Tuesday.

Hammond's four assists set a new Bonnies program record and are the most assists in a single game this season in the NCAA.

Hammond currently leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 19th in the NCAA with 19 points. His seven goals also lead the A-10 while sitting 20th in the NCAA. Hammond ranks second in the conference and 40th in the NCAA with five assists.

DAYTON NOTES

  • Dayton enters Saturday's matchup 4-2-6 overall and 2-1-2 in Atlantic 10 play, earning wins over Saint Joseph's and Davidson while earning draws against VCU and Saint Louis. The Flyers were picked to win the Atlantic 10 in the preseason poll, earning eight first-place votes.
  • Ethan Sassine leads the Flyers with 14 points on six goals and two assists in 11 games. Martin Bakken has started all 12 games for Dayton, registering 10 points on four goals and a pair of assists.
  • In net, Gavin Krenecki has started 11 games for UD, making 32 saves and allowing just five goals.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies return home to host La Salle Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Marra Athletics Complex. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.

Prior to next Saturday's contest, the Bonnies will honor 10 graduating student-athletes on Senior Day. Nicolas Pucci, Hugo Berville, Gabriel Addo, Jesper van Halderen, Seth Hammond, Ethan Streeter, Zach McBennett, Dean Mercer, Avery Dreasky and Ricardo Rittersberger Galan will all be honored by the Bonnies.
