Welcome to "Behind The Bonnies," a new GoBonnies.com series where we get to know the student-athletes at St. Bonaventure University. In this edition, we meet Bonnies cross country/track sophomore Joshua Lopez.
Sophomore Joshua Lopez has enjoyed a strong start to his career at St. Bonaventure. As a freshman, Lopez finished in the team's top-seven in three races during the cross country season. His 8k PR of 26:14 is a program top-10 and earned Lopez Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors during the season.
During the track season, Lopez qualified for the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships and set a new PR in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:33.99. In the same indoor season, Lopez also moved to second in program history for the 600 meters after running a time of 1:26.54 at Cornell.Â
So far in his sophomore campaign, Lopez finished in the team's top-five during every race he ran in during cross country season. He also helped represent St. Bonaventure at the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships this season as well.

What is your favorite memory competing in your sport? Being an All-American in high school
What is your favorite hobby to do outside of playing your sport? Reading, swimming and avid music fan
Where is your dream vacation spot? Greece

If you could live inside one TV show/movie what would it be? Back To The FutureÂ
If you weren't playing your sport, what other sport would you most like to play? Swim
Why did you choose St. Bonaventure? Good community and alumni connections, I loved the coaches and it's a good distance from home
What is your favorite social media app and why? Instagram because of reelsÂ
What is something you think most people don't know about your sport? How elementary it really is, it's just running
Who is your favorite professor on campus? Dr. Medrano
What is your favorite class at SBU and why? Spanish, it's an enjoyable class with a good professor and atmosphere for learningÂ
