The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team is set to host Atlantic 10 leader Massachusetts Saturday for the final home Atlantic 10 contest of the season. The Bonnies look to bounce back from a 15-9 loss at Saint Joseph's last Saturday as they host the Minutewomen for their Breast Cancer and CJD Awareness game as well as Alumni Appreciation weekend.
Â
TRIPLE THREAT
The Bonnies have three players with 50 or more points in a season for the first time since 2010.
Tori Nascimento (56),
Fiona McGovern (59), and
Brooke Piper (66) have all surpassed the 50-point mark through the first 15 games of the year. The last and only trio to complete the feat for the Bonnies were
Molly Hastrich, Christine Hanley, and Danielle Drabin 15 years ago.
Â
Hastrich led the A-10 in points that season, recording 71, while Hanley contributed 57 and Drabin added 51.
Â
Piper has 66 points (58G-8A) this season to lead the team and rank third in the A-10. She is 11 points away from Hastrich's program record for single-season points set in 2009 (77). She is only four goals away from tying the single-season goals record also set by Hastrich in 2009 (62).
Â
McGovern leads the Bonnies in assists this season with 33 and has added 26 goals for 59 points. The senior is seven assists away from matching the program's single-season assists record set by Brenna Houghton in 2007 (40).
Â
Nascimento has tallied a career-high 56 points this season, tripling her previous career best of 18 set last season. Four of Nascimento's 46 goals this season were game-winners.
Â
MAKING HISTORY
The Bonnies have matched their most-ever wins in conference play with five this season. The last time the Brown and White reached five conference wins was 2007 when they went 5-2 in Atlantic 10 contests and made the A-10 Tournament.
