The St. Bonaventure women's lacrosse team gears up for a busy week of competition as they host Robert Morris on Wednesday before traveling to battle at rival Niagara on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies dropped a heartbreaker to Bucknell in their last appearance, falling 14-13 despite a massive rally in the second half to even up the game and take a fourth quarter lead. The Bison held a comfortable five-goal lead in the second quarter, but the Bonnies stormed back to tie things up at 10 goals each, eventually taking a 12-10 advantage in the final quarter with a 7-0 run. Bucknell found a late surge, however, to re-establish the lead and earn a victory on home turf.

Sidney Van Tassel (3G) and seniors
Megan Schillinger (3G-1A) and
Brooke Piper (5G) each tallied hat tricks to help put the Bonnies back in striking distance.

VETERAN LEADERSHIP
Two seniors sit atop the Bonnies statistical leaderboards so far this season: Piper and
Rylee Gonzalez. Piper has registered 15 points on the year (14G-1A) while Gonzalez has notched 12 points (6G-6A). Fellow seniors
Brit Colangelo and
Kate Hennessey both serve as captains and bolster SBU on the defensive side as some of the most experienced student-athletes on the team.
Piper tallied her seventh career game of five or more goals at Bucknell and enters this week with 137 goals for her career, just behind
Molly Hastrich '10 who currently stands third in school history with 138 tallies. Christine Hanley '11 is the program's all-time leader with 154 goals and Laura Spaulding '04 is second with 146.
HITTING THE CENTURY MARK
Last time out at Bucknell, senior
Brit Colangelo reached a significant career milestone as she reached 100 career caused turnovers. She became just the third Bonnies women's lacrosse player to reach that mark, joining Emily Lilyea '03 (139 CT) and Kathryn Yoder '19 (120).Â

CONFERENCE COMPETITION
The Bonnies boast some of the highest-ranking stat totals in the Atlantic 10 to this point in the season. Piper's 3.5 goals per game rank fifth while Gonzalez's 1.5 assists per game sit eighth among all league On the defensive side, Colangelo's averages place her second in caused turnovers (2.25) and fourth in ground balls (2.75).

Piper (4.75) and Schillinger (4.5) control the sixth and seventh-most draws per game, respectively. Sophomore goalkeeper
Judy Mahoney ranks fourth in average goals allowed (8.04) and fifth in save percentage (50 percent).

ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS
- RMU is led by head coach Courtney Grove in her third season with the program.
- The Colonials finished last season with an 8-11 record, going 4-2 in conference play and losing in overtime in the conference championship game to Akron.
- Robert Morris was picked to finish fourth in the MAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning one first place vote. The team has lost to Canisius and Cincinnati but has picked up wins over A-10 members George Mason and Duquesne.
- Sophomore midfielder Mia Berthoff returns after ranking second on the team in goals along with 18 assists last season. Senior midfielder Emma Hawks also returns after a junior season that saw her start all 19 games and record 18 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Berthoff and Hawks were both named to the MAC All-Tournament Team last season.
- Berthoff easily leads the team with 18 points (13G-5A).

ABOUT NIAGARA
- The Purple Eagles are coached by Wendy Stone in her 13th season as head coach. She has previously led the team to single-season program records in wins, conference wins, points, goals, assists, draw controls and caused turnovers.
- The team went 7-11 last season with a 5-3 record in the MAAC, losing to Rider in the conference tournament's first round.
- Niagara was selected fifth in the MAAC preseason poll for 2026.
- Senior midfielder Maddy Gill paces the squad with seven points (6G-1A), followed by sophomore defender Kensington Keaton with six points (4G-2A).
- The Purple Eagles will play in a midweek matchup with Albany before hosting the Bonnies on Saturday.

SERIES HISTORY
SBU has gone 3-6 all-time against the Colonials with the last matchup in 2019 ending in favor of RMU, 18-9. Against Niagara, the Bonnies have a 10-9 record. The most recent meeting between the two programs ended 6-5 in favor of the Purple Eagles.
