AMHERST, MASS. - The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team suffered a road loss to Massachusetts, 7-1, Sunday at Rudd Field.

Jeff Deren of UMass scored his first of two goals in the fourth minute of the contest. Junior Ptah Myers scored his first of two goals in the 27th minute to give the Minutemen an early 2-0 lead. Deren's second goal came early in the second half in the 47th minute. Myers scored again six minutes later, to increase the UMass lead to 4-0. Senior Yuri Morales of UMass scored in the 61st minute.

St. Bonaventure's only goal came in the 69th minute from junior midfielder Geron DuPorte (Scarborough, Ontario/R.H. King Academy).

Freshman Ernie Billittier and senior Jason Golesky added goals for UMass in the 75th and 76th minute, respectively.

St. Bonaventure falls to 6-7 overall and 1-5 in the Atlantic 10. UMass improves to 9-4-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the conference.

The Bonnies will next host Xavier on Friday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m.
