BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Several St. Bonaventure runners were near the front of the field in multiple events as the Bonnies men's track team competed at the Brockport Multis on an unseasonably warm afternoon Saturday at SUNY Brockport.

Clay Peets ran the 1500 for the first time this season and won Saturday's event, posting the best time of 56 competitors in the race. Peets clocked in with the winning time of 4:05.79, the second-fastest time in school history and just behind the mark of 4:05.46 set two years ago by teammate Zane Courtwright who finished second Saturday at 4:07.76, helping the Bonnies take the top two spots.

Junior Brian Gleason also moved up in the Bonnies top-10 with a PR 1500 effort of 4:09.62.

In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Bonnies took two of the top four finishing positions with Darion Gregory placing second (10:07.09) and Henry Trost fourth (10:41.29). Gregory was a mere .09 off the winning time of 10:07.00.

Colin McCarthy ran second in the 10K at 34:21.76.

The Bonnies return to action next Saturday at the UB Alumni Meet in Buffalo.
