SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's swim and dive team posted a dominant victory over Le Moyne Saturday afternoon. The Bonnies posted wins in all but one event in the 164-78 triumph over the Dolphins.

St. Bonaventure broke seven pool records and one Bonnies program record on the way to victory.

Ben Giera broke his own Bonnies program record in the 1-meter dive with a winning score of 343.9. He also took second in the 3-meter, posting a score of 325.5.

Giera surpassed his previous 1-meter Bonnies best of 342.98 set Jan. 28, 2023.

Freshman Mark Mizsei collected a win in the 1000-freestyle, posting a time of 9:43.06. His time is the quickest the pool has seen, and his 500-yard split of 4:45.44 gave him his second Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool record of the day.

Behr notched the third win of the day and another pool best time in the 200-free, touching the wall in 1:42.73. Freshman Johnny Edwards followed Behr with a third-place finish in the event.

A time of 1:57.40 in the 200-IM from Kevyn Collazo Torres gave him a win and set the pool record.

Luigi Termine and Henry Wilkes finished first and second in the 100-backstroke. Termine recorded a time of 50.96 to break the previous pool record while Wilkes finished in 51.91.

Mikolaj Synowiec (4:48.18), Will Foggin (4:53.36) and Edwards (4:54.38) swept the podium in the 500-freestyle for Bona's.

The final pool record of the day came from the 200-free relay made up of Behr, Hidalgo, Wilkes, and Matthews as they finished in 1:24.69.

Matthews also posted a win in the 100-fly with a time of 51.96.

In diving action, Ben O'Neill and Giera posted NCAA Zones qualifying scores in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. O'Neill finished with scores of 329.60 in the 3-meter to win and 325.2 in the 1-meter to claim second place behind his teammate.

QUOTES FROM HEAD COACH MIKE SMIECHOWSKI
"It was another dominant win for our men in back-to-back weeks. When we talked as a team at the beginning of the year, we had a process goal of learning to swim with more confidence. You can see that each week we are more and more confident and are poised for a breakout performance in February. It was a great team win."
